Thomas & Taylor Live At The Storiebook

Their dads are brothers, but Thomas and Taylor Turner are so much more than cousins. They are deeply connected friends. It shows through the layers of their music. There’s the friendship of their dads, their voices, guitars, and even the simple friendship of lyrics and music.

“We’ve always clicked in our personalities and interests at a level not typical,” Taylor says. “Growing up, our main influences were our dads. We would sit down with our guitars and teach each other what our dads had taught us.”

Today, they not only play but compose. They write what they love to hear – harmony, sing-able melodies, tightly woven guitar sounds, and thought-provoking words.

Thomas says, “We don’t write songs, we discover them. We find our material in everyday life and in feelings that people may not take time to think about.”

“We want something you can dance and sing to, but at the same time makes you think about your life,” Taylor explains.

Thomas adds, “When people listen, we want them to experience, “Hey, that’s what I feel, but I didn’t know how to put it into words.”

Thomas and Taylor’s music appeals to a wide audience. Their CD is honest, smooth, and pleasant to the ear. They only record what they can also reproduce live with two acoustic guitars, their voices, and various creative effects.

“We just want to convey who we are as cousins and as friends,” Taylor says.

Thomas and Taylor recently won the Dallas Market Anthem International Music Festival

In early 2008, IMF (International Music Festival) launched competitions in approximately 50 major North American markets, including Boston, Nashville, Vancouver and San Francisco, to find North America’s greatest talent and introduce them to the rest of the world. Thomas and Taylor were selected from over 40 that applied to represent Texas. On March 1, friends, family and fans of the Turners will be charged to go online to

and vote for Thomas and Taylor to be the overall winners of studio time for a professional EP album of six songs and a fully sponsored and paid for mini-tour of the world. Tour stops will include London, Canada, and South Africa, just to name a few.

Thomas and Taylor have strong roots in Glen Rose and Somervell County, having spent much of their youth visiting the home of beloved grandparents, Dorothy Jo and the late Garland Osborne. Dorothy Jo is still an active member of the Glen Rose community, and is now joined by her son, John and his wife Roxy Turner, who also call Glen Rose home. Thomas and Taylor were special guest performer for the Glen Rose American Legion Christmas Party in December and have already built a strong, and growing fan base in town.

Glen Rose has an opportunity to say “I knew them when,” by visiting Storiebook Café on Saturday, February 28, when the boys stop by to play their latest tunes and harmonize to some old favorites. The music will start at 6:00 p.m.; and the voting starts on Sunday.
